Pizza Farm!

Pizza Farm! at SFUSD’s McAteer Campus Community Farm is a series of free public events featuring pizza making, performances, gardening, and sustainable culinary arts. With the farm’s newly restored wood-fired adobe pizza oven at the ready, Pizza Farm! brings us together to get cooking in the service of stewardship, knowledge sharing, camaraderie, and farm-to-fork sustainability. Sponsored by FOSOTA / Friends of Ruth Asawa School of the Arts with funding from SF Parks Alliance, all events are free!

Saturdays from 1PM-3PM on August 17, Sept 22, & Nov 2.

Farm to Schools Grant

On behalf of the McAteer Community Farm, Friends of the School of the Arts (FOSOTA) received a two-year $100,000 grant from the USDA’s Patrick Leahy Farm to School Grant Program. FOSOTA is thrilled to be able to support the expansion of farm-to-fork culinary arts at the McAteer Community Farm.

A USDA press release and full list of grantees are available here. The official title of the project that was awarded the grant is “Increasing Access to Local Food through Farm to School Education at the McAteer Community Farm.”

“I’m so excited to be working in a period of innovation and investment in school food in San Francisco. The growth of McAteer Community Farm will amplify our efforts to bring fresh, local food to students and connect them to the bounty of Northern California”

- Josh Davidson, Chef, San Francisco Public Schools

“The revitalized SFUSD McAteer Community Farm will be a vibrant, inspirational community hub and working farm in the heart of our city! We are proud to be an integral part of this creative community of friends, volunteers, educators, students, alumni, artists, activists, allies and supporting organizations who believe in the power of arts-based learning.”

- Anne Yanow, President, FOSOTA / Friends of Ruth Asawa School of the Arts
